{"id":8047,"date":"2009-01-20T14:33:46","date_gmt":"2009-01-20T13:33:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pasteris.it\/blog\/?p=8047"},"modified":"2009-01-20T14:33:46","modified_gmt":"2009-01-20T13:33:46","slug":"fiat-punta-al-35-della-chrysler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pasteris.it\/blog\/2009\/01\/20\/fiat-punta-al-35-della-chrysler\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiat punta al 35% della Chrysler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/0\/765b34e4-e6ef-11dd-8407-0000779fd2ac.html\">Se lo dice il FT c&#8217;\u00e8 da crederci<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Fiat is to take a 35 per cent stake in Chrysler as part of a deal between the Italian and US automakers as they seek to weather the severe downturn in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n<p>The two groups confirmed on Tuesday that they had signed a \u201cnon-binding term sheet to establish a global strategic alliance\u201d that would see Turin-based Fiat acquire the stake in Chrysler in exchange for production and distribution assets. \u201cThe alliance does not contemplate that Fiat would make a cash investment in Chrysler or commit to funding Chrysler in the future,\u201d the companies said in a joint statement.<\/p>\n<p>The alliance comes as the global automotive industry braces for shrinkage because of the global economic crisis. Chrysler is the smallest of the big three US carmakers and received a $4bn emergency loan from the US Treasury earlier this month to avert a collapse of the company.<\/p>\n<p>Chrysler is 80 per cent owned by Cerberus Capital Management, the buy-out group, and 20 per cent by Daimler of Germany.
