Facebook rivoluziona la net-neutrality

La notizia è di quelle che sconvolgono la rete

Facebook Inc. announced yesterday an innovative partnership with telecom operators to reward heavy users with free bandwidth upgrades.

Facebook’s spokesman Adam Kovagatich while giving a presentation at a meeting of the Internet Engineering Task Force (www.ietf.org) held on Mar 31st in Santa Monica, has disclosed the company has developed a new signalling protocol based on the TCP/IP stack which will allow Facebook to automatically report heavy users to partner telecom companies worldwide.

“Facebook is now entering revenue sharing agreements with major operators worldwide that will allow our users to benefit from automatic bandwidth-on-demand from partner ISPs”, Mr. Kovagatich added.

In order to benefit users who need it the most, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans, the first agreements have been signed in continental Europe as Facebook has chosen to prioritize their efforts in countries with low telecom competition.
