Dopo quasi un mese dalla denuncia del basso livello di assistenza di Samsung, nessuna risposta e nessun contatto formale da parte di Samsung, ma molte meil e qualche commento sulla bassa qualità dell’assistenza. Evidentemente oltre che non saper fare assistenza non seguono neppure quelo che si dice in rete di loro. Ottimo metodo per perdere clienti.

Vodafone ha presentato Smart Pass la carta prepagata per acquisti a misura di smartphone.

La carta può essere utilizzata per pagare online, in tutti i negozi che espongono il marchio MasterCard o CartaSi e in tutti quelli abilitati al Tap&Go che espongono il marchio MasterCard PayPass.

La card permete di gestire e controllare le spese, ricaricare il cellulare e trasferire denaro in modo semplice e rapido tramite l’applicazione mobile o nell’area riservata Smart Pass. Può essere ricaricata come il cellulare: online, presso tutti i punti vendita Vodafone One, presso le ricevitorie Sisal e anche tramite bonifico bancario grazie all’IBAN virtuale associato, presente sul retro della carta.

Another volley in the app wars: A new study that says Google’s Android App Market is stuffed full of free apps, but has very few people will pay for. There are 72,000 paid apps in Google’s store, compared to Apple’s 211,000. But more important is the number of apps the stores are actually selling, and that’s where analytics firm Distimo weighs in. It says that when it comes to big hits, Google’s store is much further behind.

The most telling data point: Distimo says only two paid apps have been downloaded more than 500,000 times worldwide since Google’s market opened in early 2009. But it says six paid apps in Apple iPhone’s app store did similar volume in March and April–in the U.S. alone.

As Fortune.com’s Philip Elmer-DeWitt notes, this report is from the same people who riled Apple fans last month with a study that said Android was set to catch Apple in the sheer number of apps available. So perhaps next month they’ll come out with a study that makes Android boosters happy again.

Ci sono due o tre blog americani che adoro leggere: All Things Digital, il blog collettivo di un gruppo di esperti che orbitano attorno al Wall Strret Journal, Pogue Post, il blog nel NYT di David Pogue e Bits un secondo blog collettivo del NYT.

Ecco sarebbe bello fare qualcosa del genere: uno strumento snello e agile per raccontare la tecnologia digitale, con un occhio particolare per tutto quello è nomade e portabile con noi: dai telefonini ai tablet e agli smartphone. Riprendendo i temi di divulgazione della sicurezza digitale che erano nati qui. Cercando di trasferire dentro a Nova100 il meglio della componente tecnologica del mio blog personale.

Ok stavo sognando. Quelli sono in Usa, noi siamo in Italia, ma possiamo tendere al meglio   Cercherò di fare il mio meglio. Poi se sarò stato bravo o meno efficace sarete voi a giudicarlo. Every GSM cell phone will soon have Facebook built right in, as Gemalto has created the first SIM card including functions related to the social network. A spokesperson for the social network confirmed the development in via email:

We worked closely with Gemalto on their Facebook for SIM product and believe it will be another easy and affordable way for people to stay connected through Facebook on the mobile phone of their choice. Facebook for SIM creatively combines technologies from some of our existing mobile solutions that especially are attractive for people with feature phones and have limited or no data plans with a mobile operator. Through the Facebook application on the SIM card people can: Update their status and view comments on it; write on their friends wall; receive notifications; find friends on their SIM phonebook.

The SIM card will enable even the most bare-boned handset to have Facebook functionality, albeit text based for the leaner devices known as feature phones. This will help the social network approach its goal of becoming the standard social service for all mobile phones.

But the kicker is the price. Tran says that phones made from the BCM2157 chipset will retail for under $100 and may dip as low as $75. Those devices should debut in just 3-6 months (and we might hear about them next month at CES).

By this time next year, Broadcom says it will release a follow-up chip that will allow WVGA displays and as much power as today’s high-end Smartphones at the same $75-$100 prices. That Nexus S that costs $530 now off contract will cost just a fraction of that in just one year.

Broadcom isn’t the only chipmaker taking aim at this new market. There is another chipmaker out of China building the same type of chipset for 3G EVDO Rev. A, the type of network that Sprint and Verizon use. They also say that they can get retail prices below $100.

To be clear, That sub $100 price is not the cost of materials, it is the suggested retail price after the manufacturers (and carriers) have taken their profits.

Dopo aver letto le tariffe di due operatori per la connessione dell’Ipad 3g in Italia, l’idea  è di consigliare agli amici e lettori di comprare uno smartphone a scelta in grado di fare il tethering ovvero di condividere via wifi la propria connessione 3G o consimili con altri device come Ipad.L’idea di andare in giro con un Iphone e con un Ipad sembra ridondante e costosa

Tre ha lanciato INQ Chat 3G, lo smartphone con Twitter, Facebook, Skype, Windows Live Messenger e Gmail push integrati. Lo smartphone pesa solo 122 grammi, è dotato di una tastiera Qwerty , un display Lcd da 2.4″ con risoluzione 320×240 pixel e sarà commercializzato nei colori Red o Black.

Il nuovo INQ Chat 3G sarà disponibile settimana a 199 euro o in comodato gratuito con 10 euro di ricarica al mese e 3 gigabyte di navigazione gratuita per i primi 30 giorni.

Si tratta dell’evoluzione naturale dell INQ1 che è stato testato a lungo ed è ancora in dotazione. Nonostante si trattasse di un bel gioiello, con qualche vizio di gioventù, si sentiva la mancanza di una tastiera completa e di un client Gmail, oltre che delle mappe di Google facilmente installabili.

La blackberrizzazione dell’INQ1 ha portato a realizzare un oggetto non caro che sembra tremendamente utile anche per una utenza business.

Palm sta per lanciare al Ces un nuovo telefono e Nova il nuovo sitema operativo per smarthpones

The latest Palm smartphone running the Nova operating system will be launched Thursday. The new phone will have a full QWERTY keyboard that will slide down under a portrait-oriented touchscreen. We’ll have a mock-up shortly.

The new operating system is described as “amazing” and there will be a full software bazaar on launch. It will have media playback functions along with standard Palm calendar, email, and contact functionality.

As expected, the phone is described as “iPhone-like” and will probably be sourced by HTC like the Palm Pro. The official Palm announcement should happen this Thursday at CES.
